15. On Cloudsurfer Road Running Shoes

While no truly perfect running shoe that works for every single person exists, the On Cloudsurfer is a crowd pleaser and that can serve a lot of different kinds of runners and truly impressed us.

Dubbed, “the most comfortable road running shoe I’ve ever worn,” we tested this shoe on everything from jogs around the neighborhood to tough workouts and hills.

It has excellent cushion, a surprisingly springy midsole, and just unbelievable comfort. It’s the winner for Best Cushioned shoe in our Best Women’s Road Running Shoes guide.

Altra Torrin 8

We’re currently testing the Altra Torrin road running shoes for both our Best Women’s Road Running Shoes guide and our upcoming Men’s Road Running Shoes guide.

We’re so excited about these shoes that we’re mentioning them here as a pair worth picking up.

If you like zero drop shoes and are looking for a lightweight and fast road runner, the Torrin are tried and true.


Osprey Tempest

The Osprey Talon (men’s) and Osprey Tempest (women’s) are favorite day packs in our best backpacks for hiking guide.

With diverse features for multiple activities, the Talon and Tempest have excellent versatility and durability.

We loved the suspension and comfortable fit.

It’s not often that large hardgoods like Thule bike racks go on sale.

19. Merrell Moab 3

The Merrell Moab 3 is a top winner in our Best Lightweight Hiking Boots guide.

We like its stability and support, low to no break-in period, suitability for wide feet, and stable grip with a Vibram sole. It’s also accessibly priced and versatile. We’ve used it on everything from short, casual hikes to backpacking trips and thru-hikes.

Oboz Katabatic Low

20. Oboz Katabatic Low

A winner in our Best Men’s Hiking Shoes and Best Women’s Hiking Shoes guide, the Oboz Katabatic Low are comfortable out of the box. These boots are suitable for most trails and climates with a slick look.

The Oboz Katabatic Low are lightweight and agile. They quickly became our favorite for daily outings during the rainy season

They checked all the boxes for trusty, all-around shoes, and held up exceptionally well as we put them through the paces. We also appreciate the modern design and colorways. For people who want a shoe that they can use on a light backpacking trip, a hot summer day hike, or a wet, rainy day in the PNW, this is our recommendation.


Patagonia Down Sweater for Kids

The Patagonia Down Sweater is our winner for Best Down Jacket and it’s also available in kids and toddlers sizing!

While the adult men’s and women’s versions are extremely popular, we appreciate when brands make their high quality gear available to children.

22. REI Sahara Shade Sun Hoodie

A sun hoodie is nearly a necessity for anyone who spends a lot of time on the water, in the high alpine, or anywhere where the sun is hard to hide from.

We love the Sahara Shade especially for hiking, backpacking, and hanging out thanks to the light, stretchy, and super durable 50+ UPF fabric.

It’s a winner in our Best Sun Shirts review for its comfort, fit, and stylishness as well as size and color availability.


Kuhl Renegade

The Kuhl Renegade are a winner in our Best Hiking Pants for Men guide for best convertible pants.

Convertible pants are in and these are some of our favorites.

Along with the popular Kuhl Free Rakidl Pants, these hiking pants have a great amount of stretch and comfort, but are rugged enough for hiking.

If you prefer a similar non-convertible version, the Kuhl Renegade Recon also performed well and are super popular.


Smith Forefront 3 Mips Bike Helmet

The updated version of the winner in our Best Mountain Bike Helmets guide, this helmet offers high tech protection for trail and enduro.

It has a complete roll cage, back coverage and Mips® Safety System yet is lightweight and ventilated.

In fact, this new version (which we are currently testing) has 20 vents with 25% more breathability than the previous version.
